At Innovative Instruments & Controls (“IIC,” “we,” “us”), we are committed to supplying genuine, quality-tested industrial automation products. Please review our return and refund policy below before placing an order.

1. Eligibility for Returns

Returns are accepted only under the following strict conditions:

  • Return windowThe request is raised within 7 days of delivery.
  • ConditionThe product is unused, uninstalled, and in its original packaging, with all accessories, manuals, labels, and seals intact.
  • Product typeThe product is a standard, off-the-shelf item (e.g., a stock PLC, HMI, or VFD unit) and not custom-configured.
  • Proof of purchaseThe original invoice or order confirmation is provided.

2. Non-Returnable Items

Given the high-precision and customized nature of industrial automation equipment, the following are strictly not eligible for return:

  • Products that have been programmed, configured, wired, or installed
  • Custom-built control panels (MCC panels, PLC panels, APFC panels, motor starter panels, etc.)
  • Products specified, sourced, or ordered specifically for a client's project (build-to-order items)
  • Items with broken seals, missing parts, or physical/electrical damage caused after delivery
  • Software, licenses, or SCADA project files once delivered or activated
  • Products installed or commissioned by IIC or a third party

3. Warranty on Panel Components

All components used within our control panels — PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, relays, contactors, and other parts from brands such as Siemens, Delta, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron, Schneider Electric, ABB, and Danfoss — carry the respective manufacturer's brand warranty for a period of 1 year from the date of delivery/commissioning.

If any component develops an issue within this 1-year warranty period, IIC will provide service and repair support (rather than a refund or return), coordinating directly with the OEM/manufacturer as required.

This applies to components within panels supplied and installed by IIC, not to items purchased and installed independently by the customer.

Turnaround time for service will depend on the nature of the fault and manufacturer support timelines; our team will keep you informed throughout the process.

Warranty exclusions: Warranty does not cover damage due to misuse, unauthorized modification, improper power supply/earthing, water/fire damage, or wear and tear from conditions outside the manufacturer's specified operating range.

4. Defective or Damaged on Arrival

If a standalone product (not part of an installed panel) arrives defective, damaged in transit, or not matching your order, the following terms apply:

Report Window: Must be reported within 48 hours of delivery, accompanied by photos/videos of the item and its original packaging.

Resolution: We will arrange for inspection, repair, or replacement at no extra cost, subject to verification.

5. Return Process

To request a return or service, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Submit Request

Step 2: Eligibility Review

Our team will review the request and confirm eligibility within 2 business days.

Step 3: Ship the Item

For eligible returns, the item must be shipped back in its original packaging; return shipping costs are borne by the customer unless the return is due to our error or a defective/wrong item.

Step 4: Processing

Once received and inspected, refund/replacement/service will be processed within 7–10 business days, subject to manufacturer timelines where applicable.

6. Refunds

  • Payment Mode: Approved refunds (for eligible standalone product returns only) are issued to the original mode of payment, or as credit toward future orders, as mutually agreed.
  • Restocking Fee: A restocking fee of up to 15% may apply on approved non-defective returns, to cover handling and testing costs.
  • Non-Refundable Costs: Freight, logistics, and installation charges (if any) are strictly non-refundable.
  • Panel Components: Panel component issues within the 1-year warranty period are resolved through service/repair, not refund (see Section 3).

7. Order Cancellations

Orders can be cancelled free of cost before dispatch.

Once a product has shipped, or once fabrication/programming has begun on a custom panel or order, cancellation is not possible.
